Thank you for checking out our website! We are new to Wentzville and are eager to introduce ourselves to you. Covenant Family Church began meeting at 602 Meyer Road, Wentzville, MO on December 17th, 2017.
Covenant Family Church was founded in Troy in 2004 as a church committed to the gospel of Christ and the authority of Scripture for faith, worship, and life. The founding members were also concerned by an age-segregated approach to ministry that had become prevalent in some churches. They desired to have a church that promoted the responsibility of the Christian family and that fostered a church environment that integrated all Christians, old and young, into a common “covenant family.”
At the beginning of 2017, the church began the process of relocating to the more centrally-located Wentzville. Now that it has found a facility, it looks forward to serving this community through instruction, fellowship, and service.
At the same time, the church was searching for a new pastor, its former pastor (Marcus Serven) having retired near the end of 2016. In the summer of 2018, the church voted to call Peter Bringe as its pastor, and he was ordained on October 9th, 2018. Pastor Bringe grew up here in St. Charles County and served as a pastoral intern and deacon at Covenant Family Church before being call to the pastorate.
Covenant Family Church now meets on Sundays at 11am for the regular worship service, followed by a potluck-style fellowship meal and then a time of instruction and prayer. Visitors are welcome to join for as much of the day as they would like.
The church is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), a denomination which is committed to historic Christianity as articulated by the Westminster Confession of Faith. The OPC was formed in 1936 in response to the growing liberalism in the mainline Presbyterian church. Covenant Family Church is in earnest to preserve the unchanging truths of Scripture as well as to develop and apply them faithfully in our present day and context. The church also sees itself as a member of the universal church that goes far beyond its denomination, and welcomes opportunities to work with other orthodox churches for the sake of Christ’s kingdom.
