Text: 2 Peter 3:11-13
The Apostle Peter concludes his second letter by addressing how Christians should live while anticipating Christ’s return.
In a similar way, the late Dr. Francis A. Schaeffer (1912-1984) asked “How Should We Then Live?” in his perceptive and engaging volume of the same title. Dr. Schaeffer was the first evangelical Christian from the 1970’s (who I know of) that seriously critiqued Western thought and culture. He not only clearly showed its rise, but also unequivocally demonstrated its decline.
Unfortunately, Dr. Schaeffer never gave an expanded answer to his own question. Yet, the Apostle Peter gives an answer which is as applicable today as it was in his own time. He calls his fellow Christians to a life of holiness, godliness, patience, endurance, and expectation.
