I hope you and your family enjoyed a glorious Easter Sunday. We certainly rejoiced in our Lord’s victory over sin and death during the worship service here in Troy and afterwords at a large gathering of church members in our home for Easter dinner (thirty-two people!). Throughout the day I drew attention several times to Job’s searching question and the answer given to him by God. Job asked, “If a man dies, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14) Five chapters later the Lord revealed to Job the answer to his question, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. After my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh shall I see God…” (Job 19:25-26)
This is a profound statement of faith. Job doesn’t find this answer within himself, but it comes from outside of himself (extra nos). The Lord reveals this truth to him in the midst of his fear, misery, and inner turmoil. And frankly, that is how it is with many of us, God reaches into our fear, misery, and inner turmoil and brings a life-changing answer to us. Jesus says it this way, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26) This is a truth claim that imparts life!
With all of that celebrating several of our regular Men’s Advance attendees from the past missed the cut-off for the early registration price on Easter Sunday. With that in mind, we determined to extend the early registration price of $75 per person for one more week (through Sunday, April 3). Thus, on Monday, April 4, the registration price for the Men’s Advance increases to the regular price of $85 per person. Take advantage of this extension of our early registration price!
